Professional Certification Process Updated

The Rhode Island Association of Emergency Managers has recently updated its Professional Certification Program (PCP) to more closely align with the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) certification process. Completion of state certification is an important step in the credentialing process for all emergency management professionals in Rhode Island.

Many of the requirements of RIAEM’s Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced certification levels will now also fulfill corresponding requirements in the IAEM Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) application. Additionally, state level certification can be counted towards one of the IAEM professional requirements. And for those who already hold an IAEM certification, you can now obtain your Rhode Island certification based on your IAEM certification without having to submit a full application.
